Blennerhassett Island

Mansion by Candlelight
October 6-8, 2003
As we board the Island Belle we begin the journey to Blennerhassett Island where an enchanted world, known only to Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett, existed over 200 years ago. A time of wealth, love and presumed treason. The latter of which Aaron Burr and the Blennerhassetts were accused. Come meet the Docents,
dressed in the style of the period, who take you back to the 1850's. The soft glow of candlelight weaves a mesmerizing spell ‘round about you, as you listen to the music, watch the18th-century dances, or observe a lively game of cards, before strolling outside to enjoy the many planned activities on the island.
A visit to the Blennerhassett Museum, a 3-storied museum, is in store for our travelers. There is so much to see here, including a copy of the Aaron Burr death mask. Whoa! Read about Burr's involvement with the Blennerhassett family and how it led to their downfall. You may not get to drive the Island Belle, like I did, but you will definitely enjoy this weekend stepping back in time.
Cost: per person $681. based on double occupancy
Deposit of $200 per person due by August 1 (This venue books quickly).
Includes: Roundtrip transportation to Blennerhassett, roundtrip cruise, overnight accommodations, tour of the island, mansion, museum, wagon ride, and 1 dinner.
