A visit to the Jewel of the Great Lakes welcomes you to the life of simpler times. Our two night stay at the Grand Hotel will allow you time to sit in a rocking chair looking out to the Mackinac Bridge and the Straits of Mackinac while easing your cares away.

There is so much to see and do on this small historic island. Take a scenic bicycle ride, rumble around the island in a horse-drawn carriage, or drive your own buggy! For the history buffs, marvel at Fort Mackinac and Fort Holmes which were under siege and captured during the War of 1812. There is so much to see and do that you'll realize there's just not enough time to do everything.

We will also stop and shop in Frankenmuth and Bronner's Christmas Store.

Cost: $1579 per person based on double occupancy. Deposit of $500 due June 1

Includes: Transportation, hotels, carriage ride

Blennerhassett Island

                                          Mansion by Candlelight
                                               October 6-8, 2003

As we board the Island Belle we begin the journey to Blennerhassett Island where an enchanted world, known only to Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett, existed over 200 years ago. A time of wealth, love and presumed treason. The latter of which Aaron Burr and the Blennerhassetts were accused. Come meet the Docents,
dressed in the style of the period, who take you back to the 1850's. The soft glow of candlelight weaves a mesmerizing spell ‘round about yo
u, as you listen to the music, watch the18th-century dances, or observe a lively game of cards, before strolling outside to enjoy the many planned activities on the island.

A visit to the Blennerhassett Museum, a 3-storied museum, is in store for our travelers. There is so much to see here, including a copy of the Aaron Burr death mask. Whoa! Read about Burr's involvement with the Blennerhassett family and how it led to their downfall. You may not get to drive the Island Belle, like I did, but you will definitely enjoy this weekend stepping back in time.

Cost: per person $681. based on double occupancy
Deposit of $200 per person due by June1  (This venue books quickly).

Includes: Roundtrip transportation to Blennerhassett, roundtrip cruise, overnight accommodations, tour of the island, mansion, museum, wagon ride, and 1 dinner.
